About Moore Communication

Moore Communication has arisen out of Jo Moore’s passion to see every person who has a disability achieve their potential, dreams and aspirations however large of small they may be!

Having worked for various companies specialising in the field of Visual Impairment, Deafness and children with multiple & profound special needs; Jo has gained a wealth of experience in many different areas of disability.

Jo currently works for Mencap on the “Raising Your Game” project that aims to improve life opportunities for young people aged 14-25 who have a learning disability who have offended or who are at risk of not achieveing their potential.

Jo first started working in the field of disability when her second daughter was born with a rare and complicated genetic condition, which meant her life expectancy was less than 6 weeks.

Now 16 years on, Jo has learnt about disability and the problems both adults and families face on a day to day basis.

Prior to setting up Moore Communication Jo was the Disability Advisor for the Diocese of Canterbury

More recently Brian has joined the family business as he too has a wealth of experience working in care settings with adults that have profound and multiple needs (PMLD) often with associated challenging behaviours. Brian also works both as a guide communicator with Deaf Blind adults and young people and a community support worker with Adults with a learning Disability.

As a committed Christians Jo & Brian have been involved with the Special Needs ministry both at Detling Bible week and within their local church.

Seeing that Jesus spent most of his time with those marginalised by society, Jo& Brian firmly believes that churches today should reflect this in its membership.

Jesus wanted everyone to have an opportunity to hear his message of salvation, but for many this seems an impossible task.

That’s why Moore Communication has designed specific training for churches – to enable them to become truly inclusive and to see people with disabilities using their gifting in the life of the church.

Jo grew up in a local Baptist Church and then went on to attend the New Frontiers church (NFI) church that Brian had grown up in when they got married. They were there for 14 years before moving to Margate. Now Brian & Jo are committed members of Grace Community Church, Broadstairs, part of the Newfrontiers  family of churches.
